i need to know of a cat breed that is hypoallergenic and can come in the color black?
Question by : i need to know of a cat breed that is hypoallergenic and can come in the color black?
my dad has allergies and i had to give up my black kitten. its been 3-4 months and i am attempting to get another.
i was considering getting a javanese but i want a black one but i dont know if they come in black.
it would be a great help if you could list hypoallergenic cat breeds that come in black.
i dont want anyone telling me no breed is fully hypoallergenic, they just produce less allergens or anything like that! i know that stuff already! i did my research but asking questions that arent directly answered on the net are easier to answer here.
i just want to know if there are any that come in black! if not im going to have to settle for a javanese.
also, it night have been a kitten, but it was a boy (so it produced more allergens than normal) and it also had black fur! (meaning even more allergens produced than normal!)
female cats with light colored fur are the way to go but i REALLY want a black cat! i wanted it to be a boy to but i might have to settle for a girl!
this question was asked for DIRECT ANSWERS!
i chased after stay cats on the road but he didnt want me doing that so HE BROUGHT THE KITTEN! I WANTED ANY CAT! there was a cat with no tail that liked me though… there was a mother with 3 kittens that also liked me… as well as another mother cat and her 4 kittens…. there was an old orange cat with a scary meow and broken k-9 that loved me but i coudnt bring it home….. wow i met a lot of cats……
also, i am 15 and he is 53 and already on like 20 medications so he wont take the allergy meds.
@ penny the angry elf, not all the comments were directed at you! there were 2 others before you!
also, about the cat, i never got to go to the shelter! it was a stray abandoned by its mom and 1 sibling died and i dont know what happened to the 3rd! i raised it since it was 2 weeks untill it was 2 months! i wanted an old cat!
and we gave it to a good home! all the neighbors feed it apparently!
apparently you are bad at internet shopping… that stuffed cat is cheaper on amazon!
also, i am really picky about looks! that thing is cheap quality and not even cute!

If you did your research, why are you asking for breeds that are hypoallergenic? All cats and dogs regardless of breed produce allergens. And saying that they “come in black” makes them sound like clothes. They’re cats, and you should base it on personality rather than color. I’m not trying to be rude, but I’ve just seen a lot of people get animals for the wrong reasons.

Allergists say it varies with the individual cat more than between breeds of cats. So if you have allergies, you would need to have an allergist test to see which proteins you’re allergic to, and then test your individual potential pet to see if it has high levels of those proteins.
This was in the news when the Obamas were searching for a “hypoallergenic” breed of dog (but the consensus of doctors was that there are no such breeds).

re: Big Cat Tv- Savannah Cat Rescue Serval + Domestic
The Savannah cat is a relatively new breed of cat. They are known to make excellent companions. It shouldn’t be a surprise, as Servals have been kept as companions to humans for centuries, possibly longer then Felis catus (the disputably “domestic” cat). Chompers is a high percentage f4 Savannah cat. His percentage of serval, makes him more like an F2 in genetics. This video was taken at the TICA “Paws and Smell the Roses,” cat show in Portland, OR sept 2007. Chompers was bred by Arden Morley at Camelottaspots in Arizona. Arden not only breeds fine felines but runs a cat shelter. Arden has Siberian kittens available to good homes. She also has over 100 rescue cats of all shapes, sizes, ages and colors. Please consider rescue as well as a quality, purebred cat for your family.

Breeds of hypoallergenic cats?
Question by Canine luver: Breeds of hypoallergenic cats?
I have a Siberian cat and I have her because I researched the hypoallergenic qualities and my mom decided that she’d trust me and actually go see the kittens to see if she was allergic.. She and I are both allergic to cats and we have NO allergies to our Siberian whatsoever!
I am wondering if there are other purebred cats with hypoallergenic qualities etc or cats that people have noticed they are not allergic to?
(I know it varies with each individual but I’d love to know the possibilities so I could see if I’m not allergic and can adopt more cats!)
I’ve heard of allerca but those cats are usually about $ 7,000 and you can’t test it out first. I’m just wondering about normal purebred cats that aren’t genetically altered

Although there is no scientific proof, the Siberian and Russian Blue cat breeds are said to be naturally hypoallergenic. Other cat breeds like the Sphynx, LaPerm, Cornish Rex, and Devon Rex don’t have some of the normal layers of cat fur possessed by more common breeds. These breeds can sometimes be tolerated by people with only mild allergies to cats. However, the most common allergy is to the cat’s saliva rather than the fur, so for those people, even a hairless cat breed may not be the answer.
The Allerca Company announced in 2006 that they have been successful in breeding a line of hypoallergenic cats. Although there have been no studies reviewed on this claim, many people are already placing orders for hypoallergenic kittens. Felix Pets is another company who claims to be in the process of developing a hypoallergenic cat breed.

Siberian kittens
A longer clip this time of Annies babies now 5wks old. They almost have 100% control of their legs and are not as wobbly now, although they can run…its the stopping bit they haven’t yet mastered
Fun video of two Siberian kittens playing with their mom while she grooms them and chirps. One moment of our toddler talking in the background too.

Answer by love4saints
Sorry, but usually you are allergic to the dander not the actual fur, all pets will have the dander. I guess it depends on the severity of your allergy, I’ve never heard that about Tabby’s. I guess try to find someone with a tabby, or a shelter and spend some time with it to see if it sets off your allergies, good luck
