A Havanese.
Don’t let it kiss you. Bichon Frise if you want a small dog. Poodle is you want medium sized dog. However, poodles come in 3 sizes and they are among the easiest dogs to train.
maltese
shih tzu
yorkie
There are none, pretty much every dog has dander which is what you’re allergic to. Even the “hypoallergenic” dogs have dander so you’ll still have allergies, just not as bad.
Every breed is different though, you can’t just buy a dog and expect it to adapt to your lifestyle. Different breeds need different amounts of exercise each day and if you don’t give it to them, they get bored and destructive.
Owning a dog is a huge commitment and you need to know how to train them right, don’t just buy one for the fuck of it. Uneducated owners are why dogs end up in shelters.
If you’re “really allergic” then you probably shouldn’t get ANY dog.
Even supposed “hypoallergenic” dogs have saliva and dander, and you could react to either of those at any time. You’re better off talking to an allergist (specialist) about your allergies prior to getting ANY animal or exposing yourself to ANY of those allergens. Allergies are not something you play around with – bad allergies can turn into serious problems (like asthma.)
I was hospitalized at one point due to allergies – i didn’t know i had them to begin with and spent a good year around the allergens in close quarters. By the end of the year i was having trouble swallowing, tight chest, etc – put me in the hospital for five days because i couldn’t eat/drink without choking.
In the end they did testing and found i was allergic to feathers, most small mammals, grass, trees, horses….. I was a horse care major and had four birds, two rats, and lived in a high pollen/ragweed area. Go figure.
Stuffed ones.
Just in case you don’t know it there is no such thing as a Hypo-allergenic dog or cat. It is another one of those Urban Legends body mde up to sell certain dogs for loads more money.
All dogs and cat produce dander, saliva, and or hair /fur.
To answer your question about saliva, yes it makes a difference animals lick themselves and have saliva on their fur.
Hypo means low not no. That means they are less likely to produce a reaction not that they won’t produce a reaction. The breeds considered allergy friendly tend to shed less and produce less dander. If you are allergic to saliva also then that won’t help you. If you want to have a dog you would have to consider going on allergy medication or doing allergy shots.
